NDUGA - The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432/Waspada Setia Jaya Kostrad, one of the military units under The Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently conducting the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Saturday, 3 August 2024.
The 432 Task Forces, especially the Mbuwa Post Patrol Team, conducted area security in the Kogomaru Village, Mbuwa District. During the patrol, the Team met a Papuan mother, Mama Linda Murib, who had a wound on her leg.
When they met, Mama Linda conveyed her greetings and told her medical problems to the Patrol Team Commander, First Lieutenant Fahrizal. 1LT Fahrizal serves as Commander of the Mbuwa Post daily. During the meeting, Mama Linda complained of pain in her leg, which was injured due to falling while cleaning plants in her garden a few days earlier. Initially, Mama Linda thought the wound was normal. However, just before meeting the Patrol Team, Mama Linda could not bear the pain, so she had to sit on a bench at a rest area passed by the 432 Team.
Luckily, among the Patrol members was First Lieutenant Doctor Chendy. Daily, 1LT Chendy serves as the Medical Officer of the 432 Task Forces. Seeing Mama Linda's condition, Chendy immediately examined and treated the infected wound on her leg. After the treatment, Chendy handed Mama Linda free medicine to be consumed over the next few days to heal her wound.
Following the treatment, Mama Linda expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Pak Dokter (Army Doctor). I do not need to pay for the treatment. I am happy that the TNI is always helping the people. God bless." This heartfelt thanks from Mama Linda underscore the positive impact of the TNI's actions on the local community.
“The 432 Task Forces' initiative to provide medical treatment to Mama Linda in Kogomaru Village is a testament to the TNI's commitment to providing basic necessities services, particularly in the health sector, to accelerate development in the Papua region, " said Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, upon receiving the program report.
