    Habema And Mumugu Residents Hold Communal Work To Build A Volleyball Court For Sports Together

    NDUGA - The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA in Papua, is currently carrying out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. Since its duty began, the 503 Task Forces joined hands with the Mumugu residents. Eventually, on Tuesday, 13 August 2024, this joint effort resulted in the successful completion of communal work and the construction of a volleyball court for sports, a testament to the power of community and togetherness.

    The 503 Task Forces actively organized Social Communication (Komsos) to implement the communal work. The 503 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, emphasized that the Komsos is TNI's commitment to implementing inclusive social communication with all components of the community within the Papua region. Previously, the Batas Batu Post, led by First Lieutenant Galih Widiharyo, met and communicated with Mr Daniel Menjeh, the Leader of Mumugu Village. The Komsos approved the plan to build a volleyball court as a public sports facility for the Mumugu residents. Furthermore, the Soldiers established a good territorial development with the Officials and Community Leaders in Mumugu Village. It resulted in the implementation of communal work, which ran safely and smoothly and involved many parties that could speed up the development of the volleyball court.

    The process took three days and was conducted through communal work between the Mumugu residents and the Soldiers from the Batas Batu Post. The Mumugu residents enthusiastically welcomed the initiative of the 503 Task Forces to build the volleyball court for the community. Eventually, on Tuesday afternoon, the process was completed successfully. In response to the completion of the court, Mr Daniel Menjeh enthusiastically said, "Thank you, Commander 503. The Mumugu residents have a public volleyball court now. God bless all Soldiers."

    Upon receiving the program report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, expressed his pride, saying, "The initiative of the 503 Task Forces inviting the community to work together to build a volleyball court in the Mumugu Village is the TNI's implementation of conducting inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders to support acceleration of development in the Papua region." This positive response from the military leadership is a testament to the successful and impactful communal work event.
